BoonDock Saints and other stuff

I finally watched a movie referred to me by an "old" friend. That movie was "Boondock Saints". I figured that this movie would be out of what I like but I thought I would give it a try. I laughed, cried, cheered et cetera throughout the movie. It definitely has more of a plot to it than I anticipated. Another plus to it is Sean Patrick Flanery---WHAT A HOT IRISH HUNK!!! I guess I like the luck, I mean look of the Irish. I suggest you check it out. Now to the other stuff. I worked last night none stop and even got an hour of overtime. We were hopping all night long and to end the night @ 7 AM I had 2 patients, one who was ready to push and the other who was to be taken to the operating room @ 7 AM for her repeat c-section. So I was running back and forth between one end and the other and it was not fun. I was so busy all night that I am as sore as if I had worked out all night long and not the FUN way either. It snowed a beautiful thick snow yesterday, the only problem was that I had to drive to work in it and now it is already melting off. Gotta love Colorado.

Memories

Why is it that lately that almost every song I hear evokes some kind of memory? It doesn't matter if it was a song I heard when a memory was being made or not. If can be a song I have never heard but when I listen to the words they mean something to me. Right now the radio is playing Pink Floyd and it is evoking both good and bad memories. I was listening to my new Shooter Jennings CD this morning and it caused so other memories to reappear. Now Suzane Vega is on and happy memories of high school. Am I trying to relive the past or am I trying to deal with current issues or what. I don't know. Do you?

1st Annual C to C ride

This past saturday was the first C to C ride in honor of Emily Keyes. There were around 7000 riders. It was an awesome sight to see all the bikes descend on the canyon and keep coming. The feeling at Platte Canyon went from very heavy and depressing to a feeling of hope and renewal. God Bless everyone who participated.

I have found this band on myspace.com and absolutely love the song "lips of an angel" as well as others. I have ordered their album "Extreme Behavior" and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. Check them out.

Oral Surgery

Monday I had a surgical extraction of a root canal. I was in the chair for an hour and a half and was fitted with a partial/retainer. I had to have a bone graft because in about 4 months I will be getting a dental implant. I have to wear the retainer to keep my teeth from shifting. I try to wear it as much as possible but my mouth is still swollen and sore so after a while it gags me. The pain isn't so bad as long as I can take a Vicodin but since I had to work last night that wasn't an option so now I am really sore. I know with time it will get better at least I hope.
